Dr. Laura Wants All Single Moms to Place Their Children for Adoption!

On April 8, 2009, and April 9, 2009, Dr. Laura Schlessinger was on "Larry King Live" lecturing single moms in the television audience.  Why!?  To sell books!  I experienced several botherations throughout the short interview.

(1)  The first thing that bothered me about this parlay with Larry King is Dr. Laura's usual, callous, insistence on adoption for children of single mothers; she believes that all children are dispensable.  She promulgated that if there is no father in the family, the baby must go; even though, there are already hundreds of thousands of children in foster care who can't get adopted!  What if there is just the father in the home and no mother?  Does the baby still have to go?  Adoption is about the repelling separation of family members!  I'll bet Dr. Laura wouldn't dare to even attempt to speak to the separation of Native American families/tribes!  How much!?  You wanna' bet?

And, of course, just as he abetted Judge Judy's philippic about single mothers on March 16, 2009, with, "Well said!" Larry King hearted Dr. Laura, as well, with, "Well answered!"

How many times must I stess that people who know absolutely nothing about the adoption constellation/family separation through adoption should not promulgate about it?  How many times!?  I don't know why that creepy concept, adoption, comes up every time a woman is attempting to sell a book!  (Ann Coulter....)

(Don't get in a tizzy, people!  Adoption separates families and separating families is immoral, unethical, and unconstitutional, unlawful!  It's not too far a stretch, then, to say that any concept that is immoral, unethical, and unconstitutional, unlawful, is creepy!

Adoption is analogous to destroying embryos to create lives.  In adoption, one family has to be destroyed, killed, separated to create another family.  More accurately stated, society is against destroying embryos to cure disease; but society is for destroying families to cure infertility!)

(2)  Another botheration was Dr. Laura's thoughts about lesbians birthing/parenting children.  A caller asked about this and the doctor hemmed and hawed, evasively, saying only that "...every child needs a mother...," whatever that was supoosed to mean.  Dr. Laura lost me there, again.  In her previous breath, she had just promulgated that single moms must give up their children to stranger adoption; but, she was very vague with this particular questioner.  It sounded like the single lesbian can keep/raise a child but a single, straight, mom must give up her child for stranger adoption?  Whaaat!?  I think she was stymied!  She wasn't able to quickly reconcile in her mind that in a lesbian relationship, there is no father!

(3)  Next, Dr. Laura utterly insulted the complete family of Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin that deserves respect for attempting to keep their family, their tribe, together; personally, I feel that it was especially insulting to Bristol Palin's Grandma who is a gem - the priceless mortar of the family - as grandmothers are.  The whole interview was a big, albeit, short hodgepodge.  Dr. Laura wanted to please lesbian parents, yet, she insisted, casually and adamantly, that Bristol Palin, even now, should give her son up for stranger adoption!  You ask, "How dare she!?"  I have no idea.  I theorize that it sells books!

(4)  The segment of the interview that really got to me was Dr. Laura stating, adamantly, that a woman was something to be admired in the good ole' secretive, dysfunctional, days of yesteryear.  (The adjectives are mine, certainly not hers.)  Here's how Dr. Laura's women were admired decades back; they were ADMIRED SO MUCH that:

  • It WAS NOT legal for women to vote!
  • But, it WAS legal for a husband to rape his wife!
  • Women, and girls, were consistently, and heinously, beaten within an inch of their lives all over the world!
  • Women and girls, wives and girlfriends, were assaulted daily without ever knowing about "Battered Woman Shelters," if there even were any in existence in those days that the good doctor reveres.  Even when these shelters were in existence, the average, abused, female knew nothing of their existence or how to connect with them!  Oddly, these refuges were kept secret from victims!
  • When these battered victims went to hospitals for treatment of the assaults perpetrated against them, doctors never inquired, "Why are you all black and blue and bruised?"  Rather, the male doctors simply ignored the damning evidence!
  • I believe up until the year 1965 (Don't quote me on the year.), wives were still the property of their husbands; it was legal for a husband to physically assault his wife, to reprimand her as if she were his child!  He had given himself permission via the law!  He created the laws!
  • Females did not earn the same pay as men for equal work!
  • Females were sexually harrassed by men on the job!
  • Black females were not hired for jobs they were qualified for simply because of their skin color!
  • Black females were not allowed to live in certain areas!
  • Women were passed over for promotions while lesser-qualified men were promoted!
  • Women and girls were lured/brainwashed/tricked (all of these mean "forced") into prostitution by men!
  • Sexually-abused as children, women have remained handicapped throughout adulthood!
  • Lesbians were forced to be closeted in order to survive!
  • And more!

That's some admiration society, Dr. Laura!  I think we better, seriously, start thinking about pulling that license!

With all due respect, why do we have an idiot giving family advice!?  (Excuse the namecalling but I learned it from a professional who is revered, Judge Judy.  I don't know how she, and others, do it?  Belittling and namecalling bothers me intensely!  I'm indulging in it to call attention to it and, hopefully, obliterate it!  We cannot stop a behavior until we acknowledge it!)  One definition of "idiot" is "a foolish person."  "Idiotic" means "senselessly foolish."  So, that's not so bad.  I should, perhaps, use a word other than "idiot," but, for those of us who have seen it, you must admit, IT WAS an "idiotic" interview.

Has Larry King, perhaps, run out of guests?  (I'll volunteer to appear on his show!)  Is there a shortage of issues to discuss?  Are authors so hard up for topics to write about that we're now praising moms for not working!?  Judging from the title of her simple, new, book, which shall remain nameless, Dr. Laura is promulgating that:

We need to shower praise on moms who have all the advantages?

We need to shower praise on moms who don't need to work?

We need to shower praise on moms who live "the good life?"

        Lucky moms require our praise?

Let us, instead, praise the men/the fathers who make it possible for these mothers to remain at home and parent their children!  It is their husbands/their partners who deserve praise for financially, and emotionally, supporting them.  Why doesn't Dr. Laura think it befitting to shower praise on married moms who must work?

IF I EVER GET THE TIME - which I doubt that I will be so blessed with extra time - I will peruse/skim Dr. Laura's current book simply because I cannot believe that anybody would purchase such a book.  Boy, we must have some dumb readers out there!  They'll read any kind of gibberish just to be affiliated with some entity.  If I skim her book, and find a blockbuster, I'll apologize all over the place.  But, my intuition is very, very, refined, and I INTUITIVELY KNOW that this is not blockbuster!

I suspect that this book is geared toward real young moms who are - how shall I say - easily impressed?  What a marketing ploy?  A book about stay-at-home moms for stay-at-home moms who have time to read!

(5)  Lastly, Dr. Laura simply refused to make even her minutest thoughts known about the First Lady.  Michelle Obama is off limits!  Ms. Schlessinger is taking no chances!  She must really want to sell books.  Just peruse through my whole blogcast and you'll see that I cater to noone.  I don't care who buys my books!

I love you, Larry, but you have a dearth of guests, and topics - and it shows!!!
