One of Those Gifts That Keeps on Giving!

I doubt if anyone else did - others were too busy maligning her - but I noted awhile ago when a questioner asked Nadya Suleman, who is wise beyond her years, how she will care for her brood, and she extraordinarily, calmly, responded with, "God will provide."

As I was listening with one ear to the distinguished, conservative, radio talk-show host
educated in theology, and worldwide lecturer from California, Dennis Prager; with
my other ear, I heard the ever so faint and fleeting phonation of doubt as to whether I
will have enough fodder for my new endeavor, this blogcast, "Watching the Watchers!"
At the same time (like a true, flitting, writer), I ephemerally relived Nadya's words,
"God will provide," and He did!  God gave me the fodder for this post.  He gave me
Dennis!  (Please feel free to substitute Buddha, Allah, Spirit, the Universe... for God.)

Before I begin... allow me to ask the perpetually, nagging, question:  Why do celebrities
who know nothing about it, habitually, and profoundly, promulgate about the concept of
"family separation" (adoption) that I, typically, characterize as "creepy?"  Does this
subject elicit followers!?  Does it sell books!?  Does it summon listeners!?  When there
is a shortage of political, medical, comedical... fodder, then we switch the platform to
adoption!?  When celebrities run out of material, they become enlivened with, and
fixated upon, adoption which is, I might add, a billion dollar industry!  Perhaps, that is
        why?  Regardless, adoption is
one of those "gifts that keeps on giving!"

Typically, Mr. Prager discusses politics... and, ordinarily, is soft-spoken, and seemingly
sensible, and seemingly rational, in his broadcast.  The fodder that I was so generously -
thank you, God - provided was the flitting memory of Dennis' August, 19, 2008, radio
broadcast during which he harped on his belief that "...blood is meaningless...," and
"...blood is insignificant, particularly, in adoption, but also among clan and ethnic
solidarity, races, and groups of people."  Suddenly, he had turned into a boisterous,
clown-like figure.  He said blood takes on too much importance!  He mocked bloodlines
(natural families); he guffawed loudly at God-made families!  He said adoption is one of
his favorite topics, if not his favorite, and those who want to can download the particular
broadcast and pass it around to people.  In addition, he said, he has 100 pages devoted
to bloodlines, and adoption, in one of his books.  (Isn't that speeecial!)

Mr. Prager said, "I care less whose womb I spent nine months in as a fetus, and for
sure I don't care who the sperm donor was."  Whaaat!?  He reiterated that, "...in whose
uterus I resided is of no importance to me."

"Listen" to the following absurdities about our most cherished concept, family
separation through adoption, from the uneducated-about-adoption Dennis Prager:

  • "Those who search for birth families (The terms, "first families" and "natural families" are more accurate and acceptable.  These are not as offensive!) are doing so out of emotion and not rationally."
  • "Even the Bible says blood means nothing... a set of twins, Jacob and Essaw, hated each other in the womb.  Jacob and Essaw smashed the idiotic importance of blood; they hated each other throughout their lives."
  • "America was founded on the principle of the insignificance of blood."
  • "It's not really about blood; it's about egg and sperm."
  • "If a bloodchild from a romp in Europe would knock on my door today, I would not have a bond with that child... I would not interfere."
  • "People can bond with their dog but unless their child is blood they cannot bond?  There's very rarely a blood conneciton with a dog unless they bonded with their dog through bestiality."
  • "Anything spiritual is irrational, i.e., a spiritual bond."
  • "Finding your mother is meaningless."
  • "Mostly women search because women are emotional."
  • "The importance of bloodline is the last primitive belief in society."

An ADULT adoptee called into the broadcast and agreed with Mr. Prager, saying, "Yeah,

MY PARENTS CHOSE ME!  Your parents are stuck with you."

Is it really necessary to be so mean with regard to someone else's suffering and loss!?
Even my boyfriend who LOVES Mr. Prager remarked, "He's even getting to me!"  I rest my
        case.

Personally, I don't spew and ramble on about something that I know nothing about!  But,
        then, that's me.

(I don't know what's in the water, but when seemingly caring, sensitive, intelligent,
rational individuals begin to talk about adoption, they go BERZERK!!!)

Everyone who would like to emulate Cicero, Marcus Tullius Cicero (Please see
        sidebar.)
, who was Rome's greatest orator, prolific writer, and statesman... born
January 6, 106 BCE, in Arpino, Italy; he practiced law and studied philosophy in
        Greece..., raise your hands!

Everyone who would like to emulate conservative radio talk-show host, Dennis Prager,
        please raise your hands!
